On February 3rd, 2010, the attending members of a monthly meeting of the NY V chapter of the Blue Knights voted to admit a previous member as an honorary member of the club. This member was previously excused from the club for false statements made on his original application in the early 1990s. On that application, said member claimed that he worked for a governmental law enforcement agency and that he had statutory powers of arrest. Neither statement was true. For nearly 15 years, this member ignored the by-laws of the Blue Knights organization, and perpetuated a lie...a lie that was not only told to the International organization, but to each and every member with whom he shared his colors over the course of 15 years. This level of long term dishonesty would get most people immediately ejected from the organization without question. A family of law enforcement is not supposed to lie to each other...but then again, this individual was never law enforcement, so the point is moot.
Through some slick maneuvering and cronyism, this liar is once again embraced by the club. 15 years of lying to his fellow members is simply forgiven because "he's a nice guy."
From this point forward, BKNYV.COM will be suspended. It will not be used to support an organization that has decided to embrace deceit.
Instead, it will be used to point to three links:
